The DGC's Industrial Applications > Effluent Treatment Applications

In today's environment with ever increasing pressures to ensure that the world is a safer and cleaner place for future generations to live in, there is a requirement from both a moral and legal perspective to reduce waste and its disposal and improve waste treatment.

Many industrial applications produce wastewater effluent that is often highly contaminated and detrimental to the environment. This necessitates that requirement of treatment technologies to decompose toxic industrial wastewater effluents to innocuous products and also aim to improve water quality.

WRK Design has developed the novel DGC reactor which incorporates UV & Ozone technology for treating 'difficult' liquid wastes. These wastes often contain very high COD levels, absorbable organic halides, pesticides, colour and odour.

Use of the DGC reactor has also been applied for treatment of farm effluent slurry by stripping Ammonia and the recovery of the Ammonia for use as liquid fertiliser.

Successful applications using the DGC technology include the complete degradation of following industrial wastes:
